Magazines and Ezines
The Internet has rapidly
become an alternate way to publish for many magazines.
Major publications such as Time, Business Week, Popular
Mechanics and Good Housekeeping can all be found on the
Web.
Some
post all of their content and more, while others only
put selected articles up on the Web. You can
search for magazines using specialized directories.
www.themagazineboy.com has links magazines by
subject, country and language.
http://newslink.org is
also a good directory.
www.gebbieinc.com/magurl.htm contains a rich index
on online magazines, divided into over 100 different
topics.
http://lii.org/search/file/magazines is another
index of magazine links, published by the California
Library Association.
Other directories worth
a visit are
www.newsdirectory.com and
www.officialsearch.com. Click on
Official-Magazines for links to over 300 magazines,
sorted by title.
Ezines (short for 'electronic magazines') are email
newsletters that are sent out regularly to subscribers.
They are sometimes called 'opt-in' lists because
everyone who receives an ezine has chosen to do so.
There are currently around
90,000 ezines being published every month. Some are from
well-known publications like Forbes and Sports
Illustrated. Many more are from entrepreneurs and small
businesses. Some indexes where you can find links to
ezines are:
www.ezine-dir.com
- an up-to-date list with over 2,200 ezines.
www.ezinehub.com - is loaded with ezine links.
Other
ezine directories are listed below.

www.zinebook.com
Two
of my favorite ezines are daily newsletters by
www.komando.com.
One has a “Computer Tip of the Day”
and the other is a “Cool Site of the Day.”
Quote for the day:
"Reading made Don Quixote a gentleman.
Believing
what he read made him mad."
George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)
