Local Websites
We may call it the
Worldwide Web, but there are also lots of LOCAL
resources on the Internet. In this article, let’s
explore some local sites of interest.
www.co.yavapai.az.us – Is the official Website for
our County government. This comprehensive site includes
a calendar of public meetings, up to date information on
County departments and services, and loads of other
stuff. For example, you can use an interactive map
find a particular land
parcel, view and download a map of the parcel, ownership
records and Assessor valuation information.
An EXTREMELY
important local site is
www.regionalinfo-alert.org.
This site contains vital, urgent or emergency public
information for the Prescott metro Area and the rest of
Yavapai County.
Local government agencies post alerts as quickly as
possible on such events as forest fires, prescribed
burns, and evacuation orders. CommSpeed
works with the
Prescott Area Wildland/Urban Interface Commission, Fire
Departments, US Forest Service, and other agencies to
maintain this important public information resource.
City sites are
also worth viewing. Check out

The Sharlot Hall
Museum site has grown from the humble couple of
pages my wife originally designed six years ago to
become an extensive resource. It has a complete list of
museum events & exhibits, along with a huge online
collection of photos, manuscripts, and maps. Visit the
museum at
www.sharlot.org.
Other museum sites
include
www.phippenartmuseum.org,
www.prescottmap.com,
and
www.smokimuseum.org.
You can enroll in a
class at
www.yavapai.cc.az.us or visit the zoo at
www.heritageparkzoo.org.

destinations at

The local Arts
Council maintains a comprehensive list of events at
www.prescottarts.com.

And, I would be remiss
if I didn't mention the Prescott Computer Society
Website. Go to
www.prescottcomputersociety.org
and you'll find tons of useful information, along with
listings of all the upcoming meetings.
This is just the tip of
the iceberg. Want more? Go to
www.google.com and
conduct your own search.
