Wireless Demo

Using a technology called Multichannel Multi-point Distribution Service (MMDS), CommSpeed transmits 2.5Ghz signals through the air.

MMDS gives superior signal transmission at higher speeds than other wireless technologies.  Since no satellite transmission is involved, typical problems of latency and speed restrictions do not apply.

Two-Way Wireless Connection

1.

The computer or Local Area Network (LAN) sends the web page or data request to the CommSpeed modem.

2.

The CommSpeed modem sends the web page or data request to the receiver/transmitter on the user's roof.

3.

The receiver/transmitter sends the data in a 2.5 Ghz signal to the receive/transmit tower.  The tower sends the data to the POP facility.

4.

The POP facility receives the request and either gets data from their servers or retrieves it from the internet over the high speed backbone connection.

5.

The POP facility then sends the data to the transmit/receiver tower.  The transmit site sends the data in a 2.5 Ghz signal to the receiver on the user's roof.

6.

The roof-mounted receiver downloads information to the CommSpeed modem (at speeds much higher than a conventional modem).  It decodes the encrypted signal and sends the information to a stand-alone PC or Macintosh computer, or to multiple users in a local area network (LAN).
